Privacy Policy
How this site handles your data, in plain language.

What this site is
adrianaaurel.com is Adriana Aurel's personal portfolio. This page explains what happens with your data when you visit this site or use one of its forms.
What we collect
- Contact and site-check forms: your name, email address, and your message (or the site URL you send in). That's it, no account or login is needed.
- Browser preferences: your language choice and any accessibility settings you turn on are saved only in your own browser (local storage), never sent anywhere.
- Optional analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads) — only if you accept them below. Until then, the only cookie active is the spam check on our forms.
- Spam prevention: a one-way hash of your IP address and a timestamp, kept for at most an hour. See below for details.
What happens when you send a message
When you submit the contact form or the free site-check form, your name, email and message (or site URL) are sent to Adriana's email inbox, and also forwarded as an instant notification to her Telegram account so she can reply quickly. Telegram processes that notification on its own servers, outside the EU, and it exists purely so Adriana finds out about your message faster.
Keeping our forms spam-free
To stop these forms from being spammed, this site limits how many messages can be sent from the same visitor within an hour. To do that, it keeps a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, along with a timestamp. Each record is automatically deleted after an hour. The forms also use Cloudflare Turnstile, a small verification widget that checks your browser to tell humans and bots apart. Cloudflare processes your IP address on its own servers for that single purpose; it doesn't build a profile of you and doesn't use this data for advertising.
Analytics and marketing (optional)
None of the tools below run until you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you click "Reject", or never make a choice, they stay off — only the essential Turnstile cookie described above stays active. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookies" button in the footer.
- Google Analytics 4 — counts visits and page views, so Adriana can see which pages get read and which case studies get the most attention. Doesn't identify you by name.
- Microsoft Clarity — records how people move through the site (scrolling, clicks, session replays), so Adriana can spot where visitors get stuck. Form fields are masked automatically.
- Meta Pixel — shows Adriana whether visitors from a Facebook or Instagram ad go on to look at her work or get in touch, and lets her reach similar audiences later.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — the same idea, for visitors coming from LinkedIn ads or posts.
- Google Ads — measures whether a Google ad led to a visit or a message, so Adriana knows which ads are worth running again.
Google, Microsoft, and Meta process this data on their own servers, which may be outside the EU. Each has its own privacy policy: Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn.
How long we keep it
Nothing is stored in a database on this site. Your message exists only in Adriana's email inbox and Telegram chat, for as long as she needs it to reply to you. The spam prevention record described above is deleted automatically after an hour.
Your rights
You can ask, at any time, what data of yours exists, have it corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, just email contact@adrianaaurel.com. Since your message only exists in an inbox and a chat, this is usually simple and immediate, and you'll hear back within 30 days at the latest either way, as GDPR requires.
You also have the right to object to how your data is used, ask for processing to be restricted, or request a copy of it in a portable format. If you ever feel your data hasn't been handled properly, you can file a complaint with Romania's data protection authority, ANSPDCP, at dataprotection.ro.
Fonts and other technical details
Fonts are hosted directly on this site, not loaded from Google's servers, so visiting this site doesn't send your IP address to any third-party font provider.
